“I would never read a book if it were possible for me to talk half an hour with the man who wrote it.”
Woodrow Wilson, 28th U.S. President, Speech Delivered in New York City, November 19, 1905
Despite President Woodrow Wilson’s comment, I am an avid reader. But I do see the appeal in reading a brief summary or quotes from a book to better understand what the book is about. For me, reading is both educational and entertaining. I would rather read a book than watch a television show. However, I recognize that you might feel that you are too busy to read a book. Or perhaps you don’t know where to start to begin developing your reading habit. If that is the case, you are in the right place.
For each book I read, I identify five powerful quotes. You can consider these quotes as a great place to start before reading the book yourself, as a sufficient book summary if you don’t intend to read the book in the future, or as a resource when you want to utilize a quote in a speech or presentation.
My goal is to inspire one more person to complete one more book. One simple idea that enters your consciousness at the right time has the potential to transform your life.
