Here is the best thing I heard (What?), saw (Eye.), and read (Read.) this week, as well as the best idea (💡) I developed.
What?
- [President Jeffrey R. Holland] “Teach [missionaries] that they have strength and inspiration and power lying within their own home, within their bedroom, on the seat of their car and in their backpack as they go to school. Their strength and anchor while away from you will be the standard works of this Church, to which they continue to hold fast at all costs, especially the Book of Mormon, the most important missionary tool ever given, especially in this dispensation.”
- Check out General Conference Applied S5 E33 for a deep dive into the 2025 Seminar for New Mission Leaders.
Eye.
- If you’re looking for a season to watch in preparation for Survivor season 50, I highly recommend season 37. Three contestants from season 37 will be competing in season 50. The season was very entertaining (even though I already knew who won!).
Read.
“The Simple Path to Wealth (Revised & Expanded 2025 Edition): Your Road Map to Financial Independence and a Rich, Free Life” by JL Collins:
- “Let me take a moment to be absolutely clear. I don’t favor indexing just because it is easier, although it is. Or because it is simpler, although it is that too. I favor it because it is more effective and more powerful in building wealth than the alternatives. I’d happily put in more effort for more return. More effort for less return? Not so much.”
💡
I had determined to take action on Elder Gerrit W. Gong’s April 2025 General Conference address (“Eternity’s Great Gifts: Jesus Christ’s Atonement, Resurrection, Restoration“) in the following manner: “I will work with my wife and possibly even my extended family to incorporate a celebration of the Restoration of Jesus Christ’s Church into our annual Easter season celebration.” While praying before recording General Conference Applied S5 E34 (April 2025 General Conference Applications – Return and Report: Elder Gong, Elder Soares, and Elder Kearon), I had the distinct impression that I should incorporate a study of the Saints volumes into this celebration. I am continuing to build on this idea, but I’m excited about it.
