Here is the best thing I heard (What?), saw (Eye.), and read (Read.) this week, as well as the best idea (💡) I developed.
What?
“Center (Live) – Bethel Music, Abbie Gamboa“:
- First Verse:
“Maybe we’ve made this complicated
“More than it was ever meant to be
“Hasn’t it always been about the same thing
“Lord bring us back to simple things”
Second Verse:
“Teach us to discern the moment
“When to serve and when to sit here at Your feet
“Keep us awake to what’s important
“Just like Mary chose the bеtter thing”
Chorus:
“For You, be the center of it all
“My heart belongs to You
“My Savior all in all
“You’re the One I hold on to
“For the beauty of Your Name
“My soul will live to say
“Jesus I love You”
Bridge:
“My whole life for Your glory
“My whole world for You only
“Everything for the honor of Your Name
“If my days tell a story
“Let it be of You only
“Everything for the honor of Your Name”

My 6-year-old son, Romney, reading The Book of Mormon:
- A couple of years ago, my oldest son, Raef, and I read the entire Book of Mormon – one page per day, and two pages on Sundays. We finished the morning of Raef’s baptism. Romney is scheduled to be baptized on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Thus, like any good accountant, I built a spreadsheet to track Romney’s progress through The Book of Mormon. Here are a few additional details:
- Each day we read, Romney inputs a ‘1’ or ‘2’ in the cell, and there’s a tracker in the spreadsheet that lets him know how many pages he has read, and how many pages are left. Both of my boys have loved this tracker.
- In our first month of reading (i.e., November 2024), I am having Romney read one verse per page. In our second month, Romney will read two verses per page. And so on and so forth. Eventually, he will be reading the entire page.
- What has impressed me the most is that Romney does not want to only read one verse – he’s read at least two or more verses every day. And yesterday, he sounded out the word ‘commencement’!

Jeff Perry | November 13, 2024, Newsletter | Expanding Your Professional Network Beyond the Workplace: Strategies and Opportunities:
- “An informational interview is a career-focused conversation where you ask someone for guidance, insights, and advice. Unlike traditional job interviews, the goal here isn’t to land a job but to learn from someone’s experiences. Despite their simplicity, many people feel hesitant to ask for informational interviews, worrying that it might seem intrusive or awkward.
“To overcome this hesitation, it can be helpful to reframe informational interviews as asking for career directions. Imagine being lost in an unfamiliar city and asking a local for directions—they’re usually happy to help. Similarly, when you approach someone with genuine curiosity and respect for their expertise, most people are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. …
“Informational interviews are a powerful yet under-appreciated tool for professional networking. By taking the time to connect with others in meaningful ways, you can gain valuable insights, build lasting relationships, and even uncover hidden opportunities. If it’s been a while since you’ve had an informational interview, now is the perfect time to schedule one. Reach out to someone whose career inspires you, and let the conversation guide you toward new directions in your professional journey.” - I have been podcasting for well over a year, but I have never had a meaningful conversation with another podcaster. There are many podcasts out there that are sharing content related to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – I need to find a way to connect with some of these podcasters. It’s easier to stay the course and not give up when you have a tribe.
- If anyone reading this newsletter could connect me with another podcaster, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
